A national historic site built on the ruins of Yuzuki Castle, a powerful clan of the Kono clan in Iyo during the Middle Ages. A famous spot for cherry blossoms in spring, water lilies in summer, autumn leaves in autumn, and camellia flowers in winter, A spot where you can fully enjoy the four seasons and nature of Japan. ◎Dogo Onsen Main Building and Dogo Shopping Street: 5 minutes walk. From an Imabari towel specialty store to a Uwajima taimeshi restaurant, Ehime and Matsuyama's "good things" are concentrated in the neighborhood! The Starbucks at Dogo Onsen Station is also a retro and photogenic spot. ◎Isanami Shrine The current shrine building was rebuilt in 1667 by the lord of Matsuyama as a thank you for the fulfillment of a prayer, and is impressive for its beautiful building painted in vivid vermilion and decorated with numerous ornaments. It stands at the top of 135 long stone steps, and offers a panoramic view of the Dogo streetscape and Matsuyama Castle. You can also reach Matsuyama City's downtown, Okaido, in about 15 minutes by tram from Dogo Onsen Station♪ To get to Matsuyama Castle, it's convenient to get off at "Okaido Station".
