The airport for Kochi Prefecture is Kochi Airport, affectionately known as Kochi Ryoma Airport. Although there are no international flights, the airport offers service to Tokyo, Chiba, Aichi, Osaka, Hyogo, and Fukuoka. With no train stations near Kochi Airport, the best way to get to the city from the airport is by renting a car.

There are many enjoyable activities here, such as scenic drives along the river and river rafting. The drive from the airport to the Shimanto River area takes around an hour and 40 minutes.
The Kochi City area is home to numerous historical attractions, including Kochi Castle and Harimaya Bridge. It is a mere 30-minute journey from the airport, so it is easily accessible. A further 25-minute drive from the city center will take you to Katsurahama Beach, another great spot featuring the statue of Ryoma Sakamoto, a prominent samurai from the late Edo period.
