"Fusion of tradition and modern feeling inherited from ancient times" Dogo Onsen has a history of about 3,000 years and is said to be one of the three ancient hot springs in Japan. The Sushiya Ryokan (currently "Funaya") opened in the Dogo area during the Kanei era (around 1627) during the Edo period. Since then, it has been loved as a travel inn for many people for more than 390 years. While valuing tradition and making the most of the formalism, if it is good, we will actively introduce new ones to entertain our customers. That is Funaya's heart. It is also used by many celebrities such as Soseki Natsume, Shiki Masaoka, and Eiichi Shibusawa.

A natural river flows through the Japanese garden (former Kagetsu-tei), which was visited by Soseki Natsume and Shiki Masaoka. You can enjoy the seasonal atmosphere with all five senses along with the murmuring. ``Shigurekeri for the first stay at Funaya'' Natsume Soseki ``Tei Tokoro Dokoro There is a bridge over the valley. ●Dogo Onsen Main Building● (5 minutes on foot) Dogo Onsen Honkan is the only hot spring bathing facility designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. It is also designated as a national important cultural property, and was selected as a "3-star" in the Michelin Green Guide Japan. The appearance, which is said to be the model of "Spirited Away", creates an atmosphere that makes you feel as if you have slipped back in time. (We are currently undergoing seismic reinforcement work, but you can take a bath in Kami no Yu on the 1st floor.) ★A hot water basket (with soap and towels) is available at the entrance for free, so please bring it with you.
