Shirafuji

Located almost in the center of the town, Shirafuji is a valuable building that conveys the appearance of a samurai residence built in the early Meiji period by the Urano family, who held important positions in the Suzaka domain. It is registered as a national tangible cultural property. There is a garden in the center of the site, and it is a unique space that has a traditional Japanese "main house" and a "Western-style building" with a stylish Meiji culture design surrounding it. It is surrounded by a Tsukiji wall and is limited to one group per day. As it is a space for our guests only, you can relax with peace of mind. How to spend time at Shirafuji We provide tools for making tea and calligraphy. Please calm your mind in the tranquil space and experience the traditional culture of ancient Japan at Shirafuji. There is also a kitchen in each of the main house and the Western-style building, so you can cook your own meals. Basic cooking utensils are provided, and seasonings can also be rented. We will also introduce you to local seasonal ingredients. Enjoy your free time in this building, which is a registered tangible cultural property of the country, and experience the richness of life in Suzaka, Shinshu, in a space that has been handed down for nearly 100 years.
