Sowaka Sakura

Tomonoura is a town in the Setouchi region that still retains the flavor of a port town from the early modern period. Sowakaro is about a two-minute walk from Tomonoura Port. After climbing about 50 steps from the road where the townscape from the Edo period remains to the ruins of Tomonoura Castle, you will find a villa built in the Taisho period. Sowakaro has been renovated and reborn as a hotel that can be rented as a whole building, while keeping the appearance of a two-story villa. When you open the gate, you will see a Japanese garden, Tomonoura Port, and the Seto Inland Sea below you. Inside, there is a bedroom with a bed and a stone bath on the first floor, and a Japanese-style room and terrace space on the second floor. No matter how many times you see the sunrise over the Setouchi region from here, it is still so beautiful. I feel that Tomonoura still retains the atmosphere of a port town from the early modern period that other towns have lost. I hope you will come and visit us.
