'Guesthouse Obuse' is a premium inn with only three rooms, utilizing an old Japanese-style house and storehouse that have been in the center of Obuse since the Edo period. During the Edo period, there was someone who was captivated by the natural charm of Obuse village and stayed there, painting every day. That person is the artist Katsushika Hokusai, often referred to as 'the most famous Japanese in the world.''Guesthouse Obuse' is located about a three-minute walk from Hokusai's atelier. It is a building that observed Hokusai strolling during breaks from his creative work.Relax and unwind while reflecting on Hokusai's legacy. 【Spring and Summer Attractions】 It takes about 1 hour by train and bus, or approximately 40 minutes by car, to reach Jigokudani Monkey Park, famous for its snow monkeys. To reach the ski resorts in Shiga Kogen, Ryuo, and Madarao Highlands, it takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes by train and bus, or around 50 minutes by car. □ Check-in: From 2:00 PM / Check-out: By 11:00 AM □Remote Lock System The doors can be opened and closed by pressing the number keys on the keypad attached to the doorknob. No need to hand over a physical key.If you are unsure about check-in/check-out procedures or how to operate the number keypad, our staff will kindly explain everything to you.First-time visitors, please rest assured. ◎ The beds (excluding sofa beds) are made by Simmons, the towels are from Imabari Towel, and the hairdryer is by ReFa. ◎ The shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are from the organic haircare brand 'Yo,' made with natural methods. ◎ In the bathtub, relax and unwind with WELEDA's bath milk. ◎Gifts The confections meticulously crafted by Obuse's chestnut pastry artisans, the drinks in the refrigerator, and gelato vouchers from the direct store 'Milgreen' of Obuse Farm are all small gifts from 'Guesthouse Obuse' to you. ◎ Dinner We will guide you to affiliated restaurants within walking distance (advance reservations are recommended). ◎ Breakfast is available at the neighboring café 'Café de Kōchi' located to the east. For reservations, please call by 2:00 PM the day before (080-3565-8282).
