Omi surrounded by Lake Biwa and mountains. Hachimanyama Castle built by Toyotomi Hidetsugu The castle town prospered as the birthplace of Omi merchants. The former Kita residence was built here as a tatami mat shop in 1829 (Bunsei 12) in the middle of the Edo period. The former Kita Residence, which has been watching over the history of this town for a long time, has been reborn as a travel basket after a long period of 190 years. 【room】 ・ There are two rooms, "Kinoma", which is reserved for a single Sukiya-zukuri building, and "Ishinoma", where you can heal in the Kurama stone rock bath. You can spend a relaxing time while feeling the four seasons of Hachimanbori. 【cooking】 The dish is a kaiseki dish that uses plenty of local Omi ingredients (Omi rice, Omi vegetables, Omi beef, seafood from the Sea of Japan ...). Please enjoy it at the Japanese cuisine "Tameru", which is a renovation of the brewery from the Edo period. 【tea】 There is also an "art cafe sanzui" where you can enjoy Omi tea and Japanese sweets, including Japan's oldest tea leaf Hiyoshi tea. Please spend it as a place to heal your daily fatigue.
