Yakusugi House is a Japanese-style cottage that can be rented exclusively for one group per day, with walls, ceilings, pillars, furniture, etc. made of Yakusugi trees that are over 1,000 years old. It is equipped with a 15-tatami Japanese-style room, an 8-tatami dining kitchen, a bath, a toilet, and a dresser. It is located in Miyanoura, the center of Yakushima, about 2 km from Miyanoura Port and about 10 km from the airport. It is a 30-minute drive from the inn to Shiratani Unsuikyo Gorge, and a 30-minute drive to the Jomon Sugi shuttle bus stop. Shiratani Unsuikyo Gorge is a trekking course that was the model for the movie "Princess Mononoke", with a moss-covered forest and a beautiful river, where you can feel negative ions and feel cool even in summer, and which even beginners can enjoy. Yakusugi House is fully equipped with kitchen utensils and seasonings. You can enjoy dishes made with fresh ingredients such as fish and vegetables from Yakushima. We also lend out bicycles for free, which are convenient for shopping at the supermarket. Free parking, wi-fi, DVD, satellite TV, washing machine, etc. are also available. There are also many restaurants within walking distance of the cottage. You can also drive to the center of Miyanoura in 5 minutes. We also provide free shuttle service to the airport and Miyanoura Port, so please let us know if you would like this service when you apply.
