Renovated the former JNR Yo 6000 series caboose Yo 6387, installed within the grounds of the Kominka Cafe Kosouan, and in July 2023, it was reborn as the lodging "Tail Lamp." ・About the rooms ‐There are two bunk beds. Equipped with a toilet, shower, refrigerator, washbasin, sofa, and heating/cooling system. ・About meals - Dinner can be arranged as a single-serving hot pot meal with advance reservation (additional charge). ‐Breakfast (light meal) is available for free as self-service at the Kosouan café between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM. ‐You can use the kitchen and dining space of the neighboring cafe, so please consult us. - For guests using convenience stores or supermarkets: approximately 10 minutes by car. Pick-up service available (consultation required on Saturdays). ‐For Biwaichi guests - We can hold your luggage and arrange for courier services. ・Transportation Access ‐Turn left at the Kinomoto IC exit, go straight on Route 8, turn left immediately after passing through the Shizugatake Tunnel, and descend the gentle slope to reach Kosou-an in about 1 minute. Please do not use the mountain road. For those coming by train, shuttle service can be arranged upon consultation. ・About parking Free parking space is available. Nearby sightseeing information, "Kannon no Sato: Exploring Takatsuki" and the historic battlefield site Shizugatake are about a 20-minute walk away. Additionally, right in front of the inn is the beautiful Oku-Biwako with high transparency, and Chikubu Island, visible from Kosouan, is counted among the Eight Views of Lake Biwa. It has been revered since ancient times as "the island where gods dwell." Kosouan is operated by the same owner as the guesthouses 'Miei' and 'Ikou'. We also accommodate groups of up to 50 people, including at that facility.

Kosouan is a renovated building of a traditional house with approximately 160 years of history, featuring a café on the first floor and accommodations on the second floor. The second floor has four rooms named 'Kounotori,' 'Tsubame,' 'Uguisu,' and 'Toki,' and can accommodate up to 14 guests. ・About the rooms On the second floor, toilets, shower rooms, and washbasins are located in shared spaces, with two of each available. Hair dryers, a washing machine, and detergent are also provided. The living room on the first floor is a shared space, equipped with a refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave, and television.
