The founder of the folk art movement, Soetsu Yanagi, once called the spiritual climate created by people and nature in this land 'Dotoku,' finding deep resonance with the folk art philosophy, and wrote his culminating thesis here at Zentokuji Temple. Dohito-sha is a lodging folk craft museum that creates future living inspired by 'Toku of the Land.' 〜Architecture〜 We renovated the training hall of Johana Betsuin Zentokuji, a temple with a 550-year history, into a hotel. 〜Breakfast〜 We offer breakfasts centered around traditional local fermented and preserved foods such as nare-zushi and pickles. Please enjoy 'folk craft-style' meals that are nurtured by the local climate and eaten daily in the region. 〜Dinner〜 We do not provide meals at the lodging. We will introduce renowned local establishments. Since it is a small town, we recommend making reservations in advance. A plan that includes the special viewing of Johana Betsuin Zentokuji Temple with the regular plan. You can tour the temple, including areas not normally accessible, with guided explanations. Enjoy the charm of Zentokuji Temple, the place where Soetsu Yanagi, the founder of the Mingei movement, completed his seminal work 'Bi no Homon' (The Gateway to Beauty). Notes ・The special tour begins at 9:00 AM. ・Therefore, the checkout time differs from the usual schedule. (10:00 → 9:00) ・You may be joined by other groups during the tour. ・If you are planning a multi-night stay, you can choose your preferred schedule.
