Starting April 1, 2026, a lodging tax system will be introduced in Toba City, Mie Prefecture. Please pay 200 yen per person per night at the location. This tour allows you to experience the real life of an ama diver, feel the earth and nature, and connect through food. After orientation at Onjuku The Earth, the tour begins by walking along a beach accessible only during low tide, leading to a secluded, small ama divers' hut that is unreachable for the general public. The sea where the ama divers work is a harsh open sea, unlike resort beaches. Walking along a beach of pebbles piled up by the waves, you can feel the intensity of the waves and experience the reality of ama fishing that you could never have imagined in everyday life. A table is set up on the beach in front of the ama divers' hut, close enough to feel the ocean spray, where you can enjoy an aperitif selected by the hotel's sommelier and a special lunch box created by the hotel's executive chef using the catch of the ama divers. While enjoying lunch, you might have the chance to meet an ama diver. Afterward, the tour moves to the harbor to observe the most lively moments when the ama divers unload their catch, such as turban shells and abalones, at the market. During off-season or bad weather when ama fishing doesn't take place, the tour includes entering the authentic ama divers' hut, sitting by the hearth, listening to in-depth stories about ama divers while enjoying the same lunch box alongside an ama diver preparing for fishing. Normally, lunch is enjoyed on the beach while feeling the ama divers' sea, but during rainy weather, the lunch is served inside the ama divers' hut, with the opportunity to chat with an ama diver. On sunny days, you can feel the grandeur of nature and the earth, while on rainy days, you can enjoy communication with the ama divers. There is undeniable value in experiencing Ama culture without being affected by the weather. Dinner At the dining venue 'Arashi,' enjoy banquet cuisine featuring local ingredients as well as seasonal specialties. To bring you closer to the care of our craftsmen, dishes are prepared in an open kitchen. Breakfast Breakfast can be enjoyed at the dining venue 'Arashi' while gazing at the sparkling sea under the morning sun. Rice specially cultivated at a contracted farm in Iga, Mie Prefecture, is delicately cooked in a pot and served with the head chef's signature Saikyo-yaki dish. Special Offer After check-in, a welcome drink is prepared for you in the lounge. In your room, we have prepared welcome fruits and other items in the refrigerator. Free drinks (self-service) are available in the lounge.
