到着時、第一印象は古くて暗い、エアコンもなくて大丈夫！？と不安しかありませんでしたが、チェックアウト時には小西ホテルさんのファンになっていました。 お部屋に入る風、鳥の鳴き声、水音、どれも心地良くエアコン不要の意味もわかり、古くても掃除の行き届いた清潔感のあるお部屋（髪の長い挨拶の気持ち良いきれいなスタッフさんのお掃除かな？） お食事はとても美味しく、スタッフさん方は温かく、また元気良く、 ほぼ24時間入浴可能の素晴らしい泉質の大浴場があるためか、深夜でもロビーは明るく、 プチ旅行は趣味だけど一度行った場所は行かない主義だったのに、小西ホテルさん初めてリピートしたくなりました。 楽天の口コミも一度も書き込んだことが無かったのですが、小西ホテルさんに間接的にお礼を言いたく、初めて書き込みました。 ツッコミどころもちらほらありましたが、それも魅力に感じてしまいました。人と同じだなぁと思いました。

温泉も食事も予想以上によかったです。部屋も広くてよかったのですがトイレのドアの開閉時にすごく大きな軋むような音がしました。夜中に起きてしまうほどでした。そこが唯一残念でした。

濁り湯の温泉に入りたい時には、湯元温泉に行きます。子世帯と別日に予約したのですが、電話で家族であることを伝えたら、部屋を隣りに、食事は同じテーブルにしていただけました。全体的に量も味も美味しかったです。食事は、孫もいて、お酒を誰も飲まないので、ご飯をどんどん持って来ていただきました。朝は野生の鹿がホテルの外にいて、孫は大興奮でした。しかし、2日前に夜、熊が出たということもあり、早朝、晩の散歩は危険かなと思いました。7時ごろは観光客も朝の散歩を楽しんでいました。施設はだいぶ古いですが、ゆっくり楽しむことができました。
